• He filmed an entire movie in Abu Dhabi and Jordan and didn't get any sweat on the camera lens. Hoping Dune gets a win or two as an apology to the servers at Beefsteak Charlies -- particularly Clare Davenport and the late Ron Bearce who stupidly trusted me -- on whom I inflicted suffering by making them sit through the 1984 version of this that was like a drug-induced nightmare without the high. ​

• We have friends in NJ who live next to a park where Carnies setup every Labor Day weekend. Mr. Lausten brought to life all of their nightmares.

• Tricked me into thinking New Zealand was Montana. That's gotta be worth a statue (despite the fact that I'm easily bamboozled...as well as easily boozed).​
